Why I’m Drinking a Beer? In Short: Finals
I am in college. I will tell you one thing about finals week in college if you don’t already know. It’s a bitch. For a student finals week is hell week. A lively college town can turn into a pit of stress and despair overnight. That’s why I’m drinking a beer. Starting about two weeks before finals is when the panic starts to set in and you see everyone around you get real serious about their studies. To be fair, they should be serious about them as it is important. Stress management is the name of the game. For example, I am currently procrastinating studying for Psychology by writing this article. I am enjoying my studying with a favorite beer of mine. Namely, this beer is Victory’s Golden Monkey.
A Good Beer for Finals
This Monday, I am drinking this to polish off the semester as well as the six pack. It pours a golden amber color with a one-finger off white head. This beer is a Belgian Tripel, so it has a lot of flavor. The first note you get straight off the bat is spice. Prominent but more subtle is the taste of fruit, mainly bananas. It ends with a dry finish with a subtle hint of the high alcohol content. It is pleasant, as it does not overpower the taste of the beer.
All in all, this was a great session of procrastination and I’m ready to get back to work. If I were you, I would give this beer a try as it’s good on any night. It doesn’t just work for finals.
